Like their counterparts in the private sector, Federal Agencies must meet the challenge of making use of tremendous volumes of disparate data in very short cycles. This data is generated by not only the legacy, transaction, and planning systems of inter-agency IT systems, but it also comes from the systems of other agencies, vendors, suppliers, and contractors. Buried in this data are issues that remain hidden from view, often until it is too late to take corrective action. These process gaps degrade the efficiency, service, and effectiveness of many agencies. Closing these gaps has become a priority for much of the Federal sector, especially within the Department of Defense (DoD).

Blue Agave Software's Active Performance Management (APM) delivers the real-time decision support solutions necessary close these critical process gaps in supply chain and logistics execution. By capturing business rules than can span multiple organizations, APM continuously evaluates constantly shifting, disparate data in order to proactively identify issues that have the potential to negatively impact the performance of critical business processes. With a combination of real-time exception management, continuous insight into metrics, and focused capabilities for ongoing continuous improvement, APM can illuminate and eliminate the blindspots that often plague data-rich, dynamic environments. In addition, APM delivers real-time visibility into exceptions occurring throughout the network and the action taken to resolve each, enabling knowledge workers across agencies to collaborate and make decisions that dramatically improve performance.

Going beyond conventional Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) approaches, APM provides much more than an alert. With every exception identified, APM also delivers a set of situation-appropriate recommended resolution strategies based on an organization's business rules, along with full contextual information. APM tracks each exception from its inception to closure, dynamically updating and prioritizing the issues that need attention. In short, APM provides a comprehensive environment for collaborative, informed decision-making.

APM directly supports many of the supply chain and logistics transformation initiatives that are top priorities in the DoD today. A common theme for many of these programs and policies is the requirement for accurate and proactive situational awareness - a central capability of APM's approach to real-time, knowledge-based decision support. For example, APM's sense and respond capabilities are currently being used by the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and Air Mobility Command (AMC) to identify and respond to developing issues associated with in-transit cargo shipments, improving overall service levels to the Warfighter.

APM is a flexible solution set that is rapidly configured to meet the unique requirements of various federal agencies. With a read-only, adaptive integration approach, APM seamlessly blends into existing IT environments, extending the investments already made in legacy, transaction, planning, and logistics systems.

By focusing on high-impact business processes, APM is able to deliver measurable improvements in performance. From the battlefield back through the logistics chain to suppliers - APM can enable the consistent, anticipatory response necessary to eliminate supply shortfalls and ensure uninterrupted service to the Warfighter.
