The senior applications product manager is responsible for defining and delivering consumer packaged goods and consumer electronics oriented performance management solutions which are built upon Blue Agave Software's Application Performance Management platform.

You will both define products from existing concepts, and help to develop new product features and functionality based on your industry experience and your research with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical skills; and enjoy spending time with individual customers to understand their challenges, and to develop innovative solutions for the broader market. You will work to ensure timely delivery of product functionality. You will form strategic partnerships with Development, Solution Services and Sales Engineers to ensure product success and act as a product evangelist. You will work with Marketing Communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and the target customer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire product life cycle from planning to tactical activities.
• Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and prospects.
• Drive customer and partner requirements into the product plan and maintaining a strong advocacy for their needs.
• Work with Engineering to determine phasing, timeframes for delivery, and the use of externally available components to support aspects of the solution.
• Drive a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements and a product plan.
• Perform competitive analysis, and participating in product positioning, messaging, and packaging.
• Participate with sales in the preparation of prototypes and demonstration scenarios.
• Work with Marketing Communications to develop product collateral, whitepapers and Web content.
• Assist with product training for sales and marketing personnel.

 Requirements:

• 3+ years of senior-level software product management experience (in an industry related discipline preferred).
• Extensive experience working with customers to develop functional requirements; ability to translate market problems into product requirements.
• In-depth experience with at least one SCM product and/ or solution in the context of large IT enterprises.
• Experience developing a software solution from concept to market, including market research, and solution definition.
• Able to take ownership of a product and coordinate with various departments across the company.
• Technically proficient; understanding of how technology products function.
• Knowledge of the engineering process, and product lifecycle management.
• Bachelor's degree (in a technical discipline preferred) and equivalent industry related experience.
• Team player with excellent written, verbal and presentation/communication skills.

Position requires travel to customer and prospect sites.
